Mr. Don Johnston has substantial experience as a real estate agent in New York City and is excited to bring his knowledge to JCity Realty. As an established investor and entrepreneur, he recognizes the many opportunities in Jersey City and is highly motivated to assist clients in finding their dream home, selling homes quickly and at their highest value, and being the eyes-and-ears for any real estate investor. Mr. Johnston is an accomplished businessman, serial entrepreneur, real estate strategist, motivational leader and a philanthropist who began his career in the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
Mr. Johnston holds extensive business and technical knowledge including Service Enterprise Engineering, addressing research on design, planning and, control of operations and processes in commercial, military business and institutional enterprises. He has experience creating and leading multidisciplinary cross-functional teams, bringing highly specialized and unique skills to each project he spearheads or is involved. Earning the rank of Sergeant—a noncommissioned officer— Sergeant Johnston served with distinction in highly complex tours in Central America, Africa and the Middle East. Sergeant Johnston was with the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (USACAPOC), while on active duty in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this time he was part of a four man civil affairs team (Special Operations), directly assigned to A Co., 2nd BN., 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). Notably, during this tour, Sergeant Johnston’s unit to become operationally controlled by 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), commanded by General David Petraeus. Sergeant Johnston also served in Iraq as a security operative for the highly regarded specialized military contractor Custer Battles. As an equivalent GS-13 civilian, he was also the U.S. Higher Program Manager for L-3 Communications and Global Linguist Solutions; which were the $4.6B linguistics contract awardees for the U.S. Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).
Mr. Johnston studied Business Administration at Penn State University and is a member of the National Veteran-Owned Business Association. In one of his many business ventures, Mr. Johnston is currently a foodservice and hospitality operator, with a strong passion for and around consumer health and wellness he chose to be SUBWAY™ Franchisee. Exclusive of the foodservice business, Mr. Johnston is part of a Research & Development team in the Food & Beverage industry, responsible for disruptive innovation and commercialization strategies, utilizing science and technology to elevate the human condition and consumer proposition. He founded and serves as the Principle of Don Gregory, LLC. A company which builds and operates Franchise Concepts, handles strategic real estate development, is an expert in web-based and traditional marketing tactics and e-commerce development.
